Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stains in Honey and Romantic

I've been meaning to review these for quite a while now (hence the worn-out condition of the Honey stain... sorry!). I bought my first one of these a couple of weeks before Christmas after hearing a lot of good things about them. I was a bit skeptical at first about the stain part and thought it would be a gimmick more than anything else but they do actually work! I find the shine you get from applying these lasts about two hours but the colour will last a lot longer, even after eating and drinking. They are so easy to apply as well. They look like giant crayons which you just pop the lid off, glide over your lips and you're done. There's no need to sharpen these either, if you're beginning to run out just twist the end and up pops more product!

The two shades I have are Honey and Romantic. Honey is a very pretty nude pink colour which is probably just a shade or two darker than my natural lip colour. I've been wearing it for work quite a lot as it makes my lips look 'done' without being too noticeable. Romantic is a very wearable shade as well, as even though its a red colour, its not too bright or too dark for everyday wear. The great thing about both of these is the colours are very buildable so you can wear as little or as much as you want.

My only gripe about these stains is they do tend to dry my lips out slightly after a couple of hours but its not too noticeable so I still really enjoy wearing them. They do have a minty smell as well which I think some people might not like but it wears off as soon as you apply it so don't let this put you off.

These are usually around £7.99 each but Superdrug are currently running a £2 off promotion on these, plus free standard delivery so I'd definitely take advantage of this offer if you were thinking about trying these out.

Do you own any of these? Which shade is your favourite?

P.S. I'd just like to say thank you to the very lovely Katie-Anna for nominating me for another Liebster award! I'm so honored, it really does mean a lot to me so thank you again :) x

Cute buy of the month: Disaster Designs Jan Constantine Love Wallet

Disaster Designs Jan Constantine Love Wallet - £16.80 (with FREE delivery)

As I originally started this blog so I could post about cute things (hence the name), I'm hoping to make this a regular feature on my blog. For this month's cute buy of the month I've chosen my current purse.

The ever-so-lovely Disaster Designs (whose products I've previous blogged about here) have teamed up with British designer Jan Constantine to create this very pretty wallet. There's just so much that I like about this design; the pretty ribbon on the front, the Alice In Wonderland-esque writing. I've had a couple other of Disaster Designs's wallets/purses and all have been very long-lasting. I've been using this for about two months and there is barely any wear to it. I just love it so much!

Would you buy this purse? Have you bought any Disaster Designs or Jan Constantine products before?

Wishlist: Boohoo

Boohoo have so many great items on their site at the moment that it was very hard to reduce my wishlist down to just these six. The panda jumper has been on my wishlist ever since I came across it on their website. I just love anything with pandas or foxes on so naturally I've been dropping (rather big) hints with my boyfriend in the hope that come Valentine's Day, I will be able to add this to my collection.

I also love the lantern dress. It would make a great investment piece for this season as it covers two trends in one - monochrome and the lantern shape. Plus at only £20 you can't really say no!

Which one of these is your favourite? Have you ordered anything from Boohoo recently?

Favourites: Lush Valentine's Day 2013 gifts

1. The Kiss Lip Tint - £5.50
3. Foxy Knot-Wrap - £2.95
5. Sexy Fun Times Gift - £9.95
6. Be Mine Gift - £16.50

Lush have got their Valentine's Day gifts up on their website now and its hard not to love everything they've got to offer! Firstly, how cute are those gift boxes? I just love how they are packaged and they have some really great products inside. I especially love the 'Sexy Fun Times Gift' as it has a bar of FUN and a soft massage heart inside. It costs less than a tenner and you can both enjoy the products so I think this would make a great gift.

My favourite item from their Valentine's collection though has to be the Foxy Knot-Wrap. I think this would be perfect to wrap up your favourite massage bar and/or bath bomb as again this is something you can both enjoy. Plus you could use it afterwards to keep jewellery in or something. He's just too cute not to re-use!

Have you put any of these on your Valentine's wish-list?

Haul: Lush home delivery

Clockwise from top:
Massage Bar Tin - £2.95
Midnight Massage - £3.25 (no longer available)
Sample size of FUN Pink - available in full size for £5
Popcorn Lip Scrub - £2.63 (no longer available)

First of all sorry for the terrible quality of these photos. iPhone + dark room does not give great results.

Anyway, I just received this lovely box through the post today. I was randomly browsing Lush's website on pay day last week when I noticed a small link in the corner of their nav bar which said 'Happy Hour Sale' so I had a look and up popped some of their limited-edition Christmas goodies which were all half-price! They had shower gels (including Snow Fairy), soaps and all manners of lovely things but the things that caught my eye were the Popcorn Lip Scrub and the Midnight Massage bar.

I'd been given the Popcorn Lip Scrub previously as a Christmas present (you can read my review here) and I thought Lush had sold out of all of them so I knew I had to get myself another pot while I still could. I also bought the Midnight Massage bar and one of their tins to keep it in as Valentine's Day is coming up and my boyfriend loves back massages so I thought this would be a perfect gift.

I was a bit put off by the delivery charge as standard delivery is £3.95 but the products are so well packaged and come in an eco-friendly box which smells like your very own mini Lush shop! They even included a free sample of FUN in pink which I have never tried before and a copy of the New Year's edition of the Lush Times so I think I would definitely order from Lush's website again.

Have you ordered from Lush's website before? Did you get any bargains in their sale?

UPDATE: Lush have decided to keep the Popcorn Lip Scrub on permanently so hopefully it'll start appearing in shops again soon!

Haul: December beauty purchases

Here are my beauty purchases for December. Sorry its a bit late, another post I forgot about doing (oops). I literally could not seem to help treating myself to beauty products throughout December... even before the sales were on!

Boots:
Soap & Glory Shower Trip gift set - RRP £18, reduced to £9 in the sale
I was so happy when I got this! It was the last one on the shelf and included six travel-sized products which I'm hoping to review some of soon.
No 7 Nail Polish gift set - RRP £10, reduced to £5 in the sale (available separately here)
This was a bit of an impulse buy but I'm so glad I bought it. I've tried three of these so far and I've been impressed with all of them. They are gorgeous colours and all have great application and wear so I think I'll definitely be investing in some more No 7 polishes in future.
Essie in Butler Please - £7.99 (in stores only)
Hoping to do a review of this one soon. Its a beautiful colour but it chips very easily which I was quite surprised at as all my other Essie polishes have been very long-wearing.

Lush:
Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel - currently unavailable
Unfortunately this little lovely is only available at Christmas so I stocked up in the half-price sale.
I've already done a review of this one here.

Superdrug:
I've yet to try this but I bought it because I saw it raved about everywhere. I don't wear eyeshadow usually so I'm hoping to change this with this product.
This one seems to be a very popular colour as it was sold out in the first two shops I went into. Hoping to review this one soon as well with the other lip stain I bought last month.

Let me know if you've tried or own any of these products!

Favourites: Accessorize half-price sale (£11 or less!)

1. Frou Frou Earmuff - was £16 now £8.00
2. Foxy Long Cut Off - was £15 now £7.50
3. Sequin and Fur Nelly Slipper- was £15 now £7.50
4. Blocked Wool Bowler - was £22 now £11

Morning! Just a quick post on my favourites from the Accessorize January half-price sale before I head to the gym. Pay day is this Friday so I can see at least one of these sneaking their way into my shopping basket!

There's still some great things left on the Accessorize website so its definitely worth having a quick look to see if you can spot a cute bargain.

Which one of these is your favourite?

Buy of the month: Primark tote bag

If you only purchase one thing this month then make sure its this bag. I first came across this bag on Brogan Tate's blog over the weekend and to begin with I tried to convince myself not to buy it as I didn't think I really needed it and I'd have to break into my savings to get it. However on Monday I broke down after work and headed into town to snatch one up. And I definitely do not regret it!

Firstly, to me, this bag does not look at all like it came from Primark. It looks really well made and the design reminds me a lot of Zara's gorgeous Shopper Basket Bag. It has the usual two straps which fit on your shoulder as well as your arm and even has a long cross-body strap, making it super-practical and well as super-cute. The inside of the bag is just as pleasing as the outside as it features a small zip compartment for storing away small essentials and two phone pockets. It also has tons of room and even fits in my gigantic college folder so this would make a great staple bag for a university student.

But the best part of this bag is easily the price... £12! It is available in tan, as shown in the picture above, or black so you could pick up one of each colour and end up paying less than £25 for two bags! How amazing is that?

I think this bag is an absolute bargain and I've already seen it on a couple of other blogs so if you fancy treating yourself this month then I'd recommend heading to Primark as soon as you can before it sells out!

I completely forgot about doing this post so I apologise for it being almost half-way through January! I was lucky enough to receive some lovely beauty gifts for Christmas so I thought I would share these with you.

Wishlist: Motel sale

I've never shopped at Motel or even looked at their website before this morning but after seeing some of their clothes on some blogs I decided to have a quick look and I think I've fallen in love! I was so surprised by the quality and range of the dresses in the sale section and all these five dresses are just £20 or less!

I think 1, 3, 4 and 5 would make perfect wedding guest outfits for the coming summer months. I also love 2, its so edgy and different and would be great for a night out.

Really hoping that some of these are left in my size come pay day next Friday!

Review: Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub + Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

After hearing these mentioned quite a bit in the beauty blogosphere, I decided to venture into Lush last month to pick up the Popcorn Lip Scrub for my dry winter lips. Unfortunately they had just run out when I went in so I decided upon the Bubblegum one instead because it smelt so similar to their yummy Snow Fairy shower gel. However at Christmas I found out that my boyfriend's Mum had bought me the Popcorn one so I was a very happy girl indeed!

These scrubs are basically little pots of sugar which you rub onto your lips to exfoliate and remove any dead skin. They do seem a little pricey at £5.25 for a 25g pot but I've found that I only need to use a tiny bit so I have a feeling that these will last a long time.

The label advises you to lick off the excess afterwards which made me a little nervous at first because licking your lips whilst trying to combat dry lips seems so wrong, however I found that as long as I apply my trusty Carmex lip balm straight afterwards my lips remain perfectly exfoliated and smooth. Besides both of these taste so lovely that you will probably have to restrain yourself from eating these straight out of the pot (I have resisted so far but only just!).

Sadly Popcorn was a limited edition for Christmas so I'm hoping they will bring them back next year but until then you can buy the Bubblegum and Mint Julips scrubs online here. They are great to apply before using lipstick and if you are especially prone to dry lips like me then I would definitely consider buying one of these.

Have you tried any Lush lip scrubs? Which one is your favourite?

Review: Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

I'm pretty sure that anyone who has ever looked at beauty blogs before must have seen a review of this product so I was really excited to receive this as a Christmas present from my sister to see if it lived up to the hype, and I must say, it does! Its really easy to use, you just remove the lid, put your fingernail inside, twist for a few seconds, remove and voila! Like magic, its gone.

A criticism I found of this product though is that it does not live up to what it says on the label. It claims that it works within 1 second although I find it usually takes me about 10 seconds to remove all the polish off the nail. It is also supposed to have a 'red fruit and vanilla fragrance' however to me it just smells like regular nail polish remover.

This also does not work with glitter polish. As you can see from the picture above where my sister tried to remove her glitter nails, it leaves specks of glitter everywhere and I found that the next time I used it with normal nail polish it left glitter all over my fingers. The roughness of the glitter also causes part of the sponge to come away so I would not recommend using this for for anything other than normal nail polish.

It also comes with quite a steep price tag at £4.99 for a 75ml bottle, considering my usual remover costs £1 a bottle, but I find that the convenience of this product heavily outweighs the price. It is so quick and easy to use and I think this would be perfect to take on holiday or whilst on the move so I will definitely be repurchasing this product when it runs out.

Have you used this product before? Did you like it or is there another remover you prefer?
